20 Months Old

I stopped taking your monthly pictures when you were 16 months old because it got to be too hard to get the both of you to sit for long enough for me to hit the shutter button. Aunt Chica came over on Monday afternoon, so she helped me wrangle the two of you into your chair.

Believe it or not, this was the best we could do.

Wearing socks or slippers is way so 2010 and you are way past that! I'm lucky to get you to keep your socks on for 20 minutes.

You love to chase each other around the house, but you love to be outside even more. There are days when I put you in your snow boots and warm jackets and let you play in the back yard to your heart's content.

Grammie taught you how to 'touch your toes to your nose.' It's funny to watch!

You sit on the potty, but you haven't actually gone pee-pee in the potty yet.

You started saying "pee-yew" and you hold your nose when you make a poopy.

You love choo-choo trains!

Valentine's Day

This was our second Valentine's Day together, and it was so different from our first:

1. You are able to walk.
2. You can (sort of) speak.
3. You knew how to open your Valentine's Day gifts.
4. We were able to go outside and play.

We woke up and kissed daddy goodbye because he had to work. It was just us three. We played around the house until it was time for your nap.

After you woke, we ate lunch then hopped in the wagon to visit the park. We made a pit-stop at Mabel's house for about a half hour. We always love visiting with her!

It was a very windy, but warm-ish day. We are outdoor people and a little bit of wind never scared us off! Off to the playground we went. The good thing about it being the winter time is that there was nobody at the play ground - just us!

We came home, had some snacks and milk and took an early bath because I knew daddy was planning to come home and make us homemade lobster ravioli.

Nolan, you hopped into the bath with your clothes (and diaper) on while I was undressing Luke. I guess you couldn't wait to be clean!
You opened your Valentine's Day gifts.

We had a delicious dinner that daddy cooked for us.
We snuggled, then went to bed.

Happy Valentine's Day, my little loves.

Is it Spring yet?

I don't think I've ever been so anxious for warmer weather. There has been snow on the ground here for over 3 weeks. I can't even let the boys run around in the back yard because the snow refuses to melt. It was 48 degrees on Friday and I drove to three parks before turning my truck around and heading back home because the snow hadn't melted there either!

We need out.

I resorted to the bubble machine on Friday afternoon and it worked wonders....for about 10 minutes. Ten, blissful, quiet minutes.

Hurry up, Spring!

No, No, No

Luke does thing incredibly cute thing where he says to himself, "no, no, no" when he's doing something he shouldn't be doing.

For instance, he may climb up on the kitchen chair and say, "no, no, no."

While taking my Blackberry out of my purse, I'll hear him say, "no, no, no."

"No, no, no" as he dunks his hands into Tank's water bowl.

It is great that he is beginning to understand the difference between appropriate behavior and some things that he possibly shouldn't be doing, but saying "no, no, no" while he does those things isn't going to make it any better -- even if it is cute. Just another thing to work on!

Any Given Wednesday

Toys everywhere.

This is what my kitchen looks like on any given day.

I clean the mess up. Luke and Nolan pull the toys out of the toy box again.

It's a never-ending cycle.

At least I get my cardio in by constantly cleaning.

Stupid Bowl, I mean, Super Bowl

Last week, our dishwasher died. It was the only appliance we didn't replace when we remodeled our kitchen, so we all knew that it wouldn't last forever, but it was still very unexpected. My extremely talented husband installed a new stainless steel model that Luke and Nolan just love, apparently. They are both obsessed with the new buttons. So much energy has gone into pulling them away from the dishwasher for the past 3 days!

On Saturday, my mom and I joined Mabel and Angie for the Sex and the City bus tour in NYC. We had a fabulous time despite the fact that it was a rainy day. Justin took the boys to Mom Mom & Poppy's house to celebrate Poppy's birthday! All three of my men had a fun time and I sure did miss them by the time I got home that night!

Sunday was Super Bowl Sunday and since the Eagles weren't playing (yet again), I wasn't terribly interested in the game. Mom Mom & Poppy came over for the game, but earlier in the morning, Justin and I had a lot of fun with our little guys! I was cleaning the kitchen after breakfast and walked in on this:

My handsome husband reading to my boys.
That is, in fact, a washcloth on Luke's head. I used it to clean their hands and faces after breakfast and Luke took it upon himself to turn it into a hat. He walked around with it on his head for almost an hour.

Luke has had a big-time word explosion over the past week!! It's wonderful to hear him talk more and, along with his word explosion, he has become more cuddly and affectionate! He loves to curl up on my lap and hug and kiss me. I don't mind one.single.bit!

Brotherly Love

Hockey Players

Justin plays ice hockey and from the moment we found out that I was expecting sons, he has been talking about putting our boys in skates and getting them out on the ice.

He has dreams of playing hockey and whiffle ball with Luke and Nolan!

Grammie brought the boys their first sets of hockey sticks and pucks. I think Justin was more excited about it than they were, but the three of them have been practicing face-offs since yesterday!

Luke is taking a break.
Taking a break with Daddy.
