OCNJ Beach Vacation - Part One

We returned home a little bit early from our beach vacation because of Hurricane Irene, but we had a fantastic time nonetheless! We spent (almost) a week in Ocean City, New Jersey with Mom Mom, Poppy, Aunt Christa and Uncle Charlie in a lovely home on Asbury Avenue. When I hit the lottery some day (wishful thinking!), a beach house will be one of my first purchases!

We arrived on Saturday afternoon to a house full of our family. Nolan and Luke tore through the house exploring their new surroundings. They were especially excited about their bedroom and big boy beds which Mom Mom had already set up for them! I don't know what happened, but I can't find a single picture I took from our first day - including Aunt Brenda's birthday pictures! We had a very fun night celebrating Brenda's 30th birthday at her family's house.

The following morning (Sunday) was spent on the beach and afterwards, the boardwalk!
Look at that sky -- I thought that a huge storm would roll in, but we had a great day!

We spent Monday by the beach then Mike & Gloria came over and we had a delicious dinner at home.

Tuesday -- the men woke up and went golfing while the girls and my two little guys went to the beach. Mom Mom, the boys and myself, were all in the water and when we came out, Christa mentioned that she felt the ground shake. I didn't feel anything since I was in the ocean, but we saw a military helicopter fly down the beach then everyone started talking about the earthquake.

When the guys were finished golfing, they met us on the beach and we spent the rest of the afternoon boogie boarding and playing with Nolan and Luke.

After the beach, we went to the boardwalk again for some more rides, ice cream and french fries (all before dinner!).

Uncle Charlie met us by the rides and told us that a string band was out on the boardwalk.

My Luke boys love music!

After the boardwalk, we went back home and Aunt Christa and Uncle Charlie made us some delicious tacos and margaritas! Christa makes the most delicious cocktails and has the blog to show it (here)! I can't even begin to tell you about the bloody marys -- to die for!

The rest of the week is to be continued later!
