Weekend Recap

The weather on Friday morning was just beautiful, so I called my mom and sister to see if they'd like to join the boys and I for a short zoo trip. We arrived when the park opened and there were hardly any people there. Plus, you get to see some of the animals being fed which is pretty cool!

After a while I was surrounded by kids and goats -- good times.

The only way out of the petting zoo is through a big barn filled with nothing but sinks, soap dispensers and hand dryers -- such a good idea for a paranoid mom like me!

Normally, there are loads of people around the ducks, but not when you go early!

Their favorite thing to do at the zoo is ride on this train. Nolan's face lights up when he sees it.

This was the first time we ever went into the bird house. I liked it a lot more than everyone else. My mom is petrified of birds and the boys were more interested in the plants than birds.

Aunt Chica and Uncle Eric came over for dinner and ice cream on Friday night. They were over again Saturday morning for some breakfast before Justin had to leave for Pittsburgh. The Phillies were playing in Pirates stadium, so he and his dad made the 5 hour drive out so see them play!

While daddy & Poppy was away, Mom Mom & I spent the afternoon together playing with Nolan & Luke. We took them to the mall for dinner. Of course, we visited Barnes & Noble to play with the Thomas the Tank train set. Since we let them out of the stroller to play with the trains, it's always a bit of a struggle trying to get them to sit back in the stroller! We let them walk a bit, but when it was time for dinner, we put them back and and luckily they stayed in there for the rest of our time there!

Daddy came home Sunday and we had an early dinner with Mom Mom & Poppy. Yes, the boys did wear the same thing that they wore on Friday, but you know kids this age! I was putting away their laundry Sunday morning when Nolan took the shirt out of the basket and said "dump truck" (which sounds like 'twock' - so cute). Dump truck shirt it is!!
