Turkey Time

We celebrated Thanksgiving last Thursday at Mom Mom & Poppy's house. I ate, and ate, and ate and ate some more. Everything was just too delicious to pass up!

I woke up early (but not freakishly early) on Friday morning to finish up my Christmas shopping. I grabbed the girls and we went to Macy's to take advantage of some pretty great sales.

Here are the girls writing their letters to Santa.

I grabbed one of the very few carts in Macys. People were giving me the evil eye, but I didn't care! Since I was separated from Chica, I had my sister snap a cell pic of me to send to her for bragging rights!

Justin hung out at home with Luke and Nolan on Friday and Saturday morning so I could have some quality "girl" time. I really loved my alone time - I can't deny it. I felt so productive!

The rest of my weekend was spent decorating the house for Christmas. Gathering old coats for a coat drive. Cleaning out closets and playing with the boys.

Happy Thanksgiving

There is so much to be thankful for. Of course, I am very thankful for my family and friends. They always seem to lift me up when I am down!

I am beyond thankful for Justin and my gorgeous sons - that goes without saying.

In addition to my health and the people I'm thankful for (and all that they do to help make our lives easier), there are some other 'things' I'm thankful for:
  • Benefit Erase Paste (makes my eyes look much less tired!)
  • MAC Viva Glam V lipstick
  • Strong coffee
  • Hollywood Tan spray tans
  • My job
  • My GPS (I don't know how I got around before having it)
  • Express jeans
  • My fabulous shoe collection (although I could always use more)
  • Pedicures
  • Landshark beer
  • Marshalls
  • My laptop
  • Showtime & HBO shows
  • Dangle earrings
  • The Swiffer Wet mop (makes cleaning so much easier)
  • The Jersey Shore (not the show -- the actual shore)
  • Las Margaritas
  • Going to Phillies games
  • Chickies n Pete's crab fries

Happy Thanksgiving!!

What does Santa say?

I've been practicing this with the boys for weeks now:

Mommy: "What does Santa say?"

Boys: "Ho Ho Ho!"

We're definitely getting into the Christmas spirit!

Paging Dr. Nolan because Luke is sick

Luke hasn't been feeling well, so I took him to the pediatrician first thing yesterday and discovered that my little sweetie has a double ear infection and a sore throat. Once I received the script for antibiotics, Luke and I went to the pharmacy to fill it. I waited around because I wanted to give them to him a.s.a.p. I think the pharmacist took pity on Luke and pushed our order to the front of the line - I was so grateful.

I gave him his medicine and put him down for a nap. About three hours later he was like a different baby. His fever broke and he wanted to play with his brother. I was so thankful that the antibiotics started working so quickly!

I don't have any pictures from the past couple of days because we've all been so busy trying to make Luke comfortable or keeping Nolan occupied. Here are some Dr. Nolan pictures from earlier in the week - when Luke was feeling more like himself!

Nolan listening to mommy's heart - thump thump!

You can really see the difference in Luke's hair color here. It's red up top then blonde at the crown then red again at the base of his neck - so cute!!

Nolan fulfilling Poppy's dream...Dr. Nolan!

When I was a little girl, my Grandmother would take one of her scarves, fold it into a triangle and tie it to my head. She called it my babushka.

Luke likes to pull my scarves out of the closet and play with them, so I made him his very own rendition of the babushka.

Doesn't he look charming?Nolan prefers my ski hat.

Ohio Weekend

On last Thursday, my 3 men & I took a 7 hour car ride to Ohio to visit Grandmom, Grandpop, Uncle Josh, Uncle Zach & Aunt Anne (and their doggies). We left at 8:30 on Thursday morning and had a very smooth ride out to Ohio. The boys were very content with the help of a 45 minute pit-stop at a BK Playland and some sing-along DVDs.

This was our first time staying at a hotel with Luke & Nolan. On previous vacations, we've always stayed in condos which was nice because of separate bedrooms and a kitchen!

It was hard getting them to sleep on Thursday night, but once they finally did, it was a pretty event-free night.

On Friday morning daddy had a business trip to make so Grandmom came and got the boys & we headed on over to their house for a little bit of play-time!

Nolan & Chewie

Giving Bonnie a kiss.

Grandpop & the boys played on the trampoline!

It resulted in some static hair!

Grandmom has an awesome camera that I am super-jealous of!

Playing under the trampoline is just as much fun as playing on top!

Once daddy arrived, he manned the camera for a bit!

The slot machine was a very big hit with Luke & Nolan!

Later that night, after Uncle Josh & Uncle Zach arrived home from school, we went to the park. This is about when Nolan started to get sick.

Having fun with my youngest brother!

I really need to figure out how to nail the focus.
I'm such an ameture!!

That night was pretty rough once we got back to the hotel. Luke fell asleep easily, but Nolan wasn't able to rest until well after 2:00 a.m. Nolie is very comforted by his daddy, so Justin ended up staying up all night with him. The poor little guy was up every half hour or so.

We were supposed to go the Akron Zoo on Saturday, but since Nolan wasn't feeling well and we had such a tough night at the hotel, we decided to cut our trip short and make the long drive back home so that he could rest in his own crib in his familiar house. I hated leaving after only 2 days, but I couldn't imagine spending another night in the hotel like the previous night.

Before we left on Saturday afternoon, we had some of Grandmom's DELICIOUS breakfast then spent time playing in the yard.

The boys really LOVE their Uncle Josh! He's so much fun!

Grandpop took us for a ride around the yard! Nolan was napping so unfortunately he missed this part :(

Then it was my turn to play farmer mommy!!

I had a blast and can't wait to go out for another visit!

5 Year Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to the man who makes me laugh...

Who impresses me with his creativity & craftiness...
(it's good to have at least one parent who can make
homemade Halloween costumes for our sons!)

who impresses me with his talents...

who surprises me with fun trips...

who shares my love for Harry Potter...

who gave me the most beautiful gifts I could ever receive...
(with Luke)

(with Nolan)

I would do it over and over and over again.

You make it so easy.
Thank you for five, fun-filled years of marriage. You're my best friend.
You're an amazing daddy to our little boys.
You're mine ;)
Thank you.
