This past Saturday, Justin and I went to NYC to see Cirque du Soleil and have dinner at Tao with friends. After a very late night, we retreated to Christa's house for some R&R. Needless to say that when we woke on Sunday, we weren't feeling our best, but we needed to make the trek home to get the boys, who had spent the weekend at Mom Mom & Poppy's house.
Mom V told us that Nolan was a little stuffy on Saturday night and when we picked him up, we could definitely tell that he was coming down with something. By Monday he was not a happy camper. He was stuffy and had a cough, so I took him to the pediatrician while my mom sat with Luke.
He has an upper respiratory infection, but it hasn't made its way to his chest & he hasn't yet had a fever. There wasn't anything the doctor could give him, so we're just giving him lots of cuddles, some saline drops, constant boogie sucking with the aspirator, cool mist vaporizer and some Baby VapoRub.
He wants to be held constantly which proves to be difficult when there's also Luke to care for. Since Justin has been out of town since Monday, my mom has been spending the night with us to lend a hand. I've been sleeping with Nolan on my chest in bed every night. He needs to be elevated to help with his breathing and he wants nothing to do with his carseat. I've also tried the bouncer and elevating his mattress. He just wants to be cuddled. Poor little guy.
My posting may be few and far between for the next few days. Luke has been a bit under the weather today, so I have a feeling we may have another little guy on our hands who is coming down with this cold. Thankfully, Justin will be home tonight. Say a prayer for the babies that they feel better by Christmas!
